The Roman god of wine and intoxication, Bacchus' festival was celebrated on March 16 and 17. These infamous celebrations, notorious for their sexual and criminal character, got so out of hand that they were eventually forbidden by the Roman Senate. Individually sculpted, grape vines adorn Karnevāls Bacchus masques. Meticulously hand-painted with a pearl and silver crackle effect. Imported glass beads secure Swiss silk ribbon ties.
