10. Masquerade - So much can be done with a masquerade theme. The best place to have this event would be in a ballroom. Mostly finger food would be appropriate, but you could have a banquet dinner as well. Regardless, be sure to serve wine and punch. You can have a kid's station where they can decorate their own plastic masks. Ask guests to dress appropriately (note that this is different than a costume party), in formal wear and matching masks. Decorate with Venetian masks, and gauzy fabrics. You can hang the Venetian masks on the wall, or use as centerpieces. You could also decorate with the lighter wearable masks, although that would be tempting your guests to wear them! Rich colors should be used to decorate: golds, reds, silvers, purples. If you are worried about matching masks to your clothing, Karneval masks can match them to any swatch of fabric. They also include pictures of work they have done for special occasions, including beautiful centerpieces, and place card holders. For favors, give out bubbles, picture frames, or candles - all matching the theme, of course.
